Meet Casper! While we don’t know much about his past, it was clear when he arrived that he hadn’t been treated kindly. It took him a full day to feel safe enough to leave the kitchen and realize he no longer needed to guard it. Casper has a special love for the doggy toy box—he’ll dig through it, pulling out toys one by one until he finds the perfect match. Though he’s calm for a puppy, he has a playful side that shines through. He gets along wonderfully with the two dogs, the cat, and the kids in his foster home. The cat, in particular, fascinates him—he loves following the cat around and trying to engage him in play! We’re still working on basic commands, but Casper has already mastered “sit.” He’s highly food and treat motivated, which makes training both fun and productive. He eagerly looks forward to mealtimes and training sessions. Casper also enjoys spending time outside and will paw at the door when he needs to go out—he hasn’t had a single accident indoors! Although we don’t crate him, he does well when left alone at night and has proven to be a well-behaved and loving companion.
